T.L. Cannon in the Community

At T.L. Cannon, the foundation of our business is our commitment to the community and being a part of our neighborhoods. We offer a
variety of fundraising and incentive programs for schools, youth sports teams, firefighters and other nonprofit organizations. In addition, we host company-wide fundraisers throughout the year for our local Make-A-Wish Foundations and Special Olympics chapters.

For thirteen consecutive years, we have been awarded the New York State Restaurant Association’s “Restaurant Neighbor Award” for our community-based programs. In 2015, T.L.
Cannon was recognized at the national level for the industry with the National Restaurant Association’s “Restaurant Neighbor Award” for our support of community. In 2020, we were
recognized within the Applebee’s system  as “Applebee’s Neighbor of the Year” for the eighth time, highlighting our support and involvement in the neighborhoods we serve. Most recently, in 2022, we were presented with the “Heart of Applebee’s” award for their commitment to Make-A-Wish. by the national Applebee’s brand.

  • Special Olympics Partnership

    Since Fall 2008, T.L. Cannon has partnered with local law enforcement officers to hold “Law and Orders” events, benefiting the Special Olympics of New York State. In 2012, T.L. Cannon partnered with the Connecticut Special Olympics, too. Officers from across the state are paired with Applebee’s staff and spend the evening greeting and serving guests, clearing tables, and collecting tips and donations for the Special Olympics. The company has raised over $298,660 for the Special Olympics since 2008, and raised over $41,028.94 in 2018 alone. As a company, we continue to look forward to building our fundraising totals and continuing to work hand-in-hand with law enforcement to support this worthwhile cause.

  • Flapjack Fundraisers

    Flapjack Fundraisers are a fun and effective way to raise money for your school, youth sports team or scouting troop on a weekend morning. Applebee’s provides our restaurant, food and beverage and some staff for your event but then the rest is up to you and your “team” of supporters. Once a date is booked, each group is responsible for customizing their flyer and tickets and printing them from our TLC Neighborhood website, as well as promoting the event to their supporters and selling tickets. Most groups choose to sell tickets for $6 to $10 and Applebee’s only asks for $3.00 from each redeemed ticket to offset food costs for the event. All funds collected are managed by the organization selling tickets. Finally, on the event date, each group must provide volunteers to help work at their breakfast with assistance and guidance from our restaurant associates. Most groups find this to be the most fun part of the event and it provides students the opportunity to experience working in a restaurant!   • Dining To Donate Fundraisers

    Host a ‘Dining to Donate’ night for your nonprofit organization! Schedule a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday event and download vouchers on our web site to distribute to everyone you know! On the chosen day, from open until close, Applebee’s will donate 10% of any guest’s bill when they present their server with a voucher from your group.

  • Carryout for a Cause

    Held on select days of the week (Mon/Tues/Wed), your non-profit organization spreads the word to supporters, encouraging them to order Applebee’s “To Go” on your designated event day via applebees.com or our mobile app. At online checkout, supporters enter code ‘DOINGOOD,’ which flags their transaction as a supporter of your cause on event day and 20% is donated back to your organization after the event.
